Great local press

Not for the first time Watford FC has fallen out with the Watford Observer.

Watford On TV

Two spots of Watford on TV recently.

Easy Peasy Ecobeebies a half hour special for children’s channel cBeebies about recycling (iPlayer link) was filmed on the Cassiobury estate. I’d like to point out that I didn’t actually spot this, I just read about it in the Watford Observer, as I don’t make a habit of watching cBeebies.

And Watford town centre was used in episode 6 of Peepshow (see below, about 3 mins in).

This isn’t the first time Mitchell and Webb have filmed in Watford having shot in the town centre, old central baths and even at my school for the first series of That Mitchell and Webb Look.

Watford sacrificed for rest of UK

Probably just London to be honest.

Nice to hear that BBC 3CR (aka Luton, Bedford and MK radio) were unaware of this and failed to mention it in any bulletins, despite several callers saying power was out in Watford, Bushey and the surrounding villages.  I’ll expect the same the next time there is a powercut in Luton or Bedford then shall I - I doubt it.

A few things…

  • Super Aguri went bust - is this the last we will see of Anthony Davidson
  • Watford Observer reports on pupils grilling politicians
“I think these pupils were right to grill these politicians - they should all be grilled and preferably served up with barbecue sauce.”
  • I was contacted by a game cheats website ( http://cheatbuzz.com/blog/ ) who wanted to do a link exchange with GameMaker Blog, although I think I will decline since their traffic rank is far worse than mine.

No Neil Price!

I was pleased to hear that Neil Price wasn’t spouting his usuall nonsense alongside Simon Oxley’s commentry of Blackpool versus Watford on BBC Three Counties Radio.

Neil “blindingly obvious” Price, “we aren’t going to win this game unless we score”, normally spouts out rubbish each week but today we had the voice of Watford Observer sports reporter Kevin Affleck.

Now we can loose in the playoffs.

Ad sets

Sometimes when browsing the web I come across a site that is running several of the same or similar ads. In this instance the ads I saw for Virgin Atlantic on a local newspaper website were all promoting the same campaign but where different ad formats.

Sure this may be about brand recognition or something, but I just find it irritating - especially considering the top banner quotes a different price from the others!
