A leaflet from Ian Oakley, the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Watford, came through our door today.
He is holding a “Pretty pet competition”. I thought he was suposed to be a politican, not a local newspaper.
On arriving back home from school after book return day my mum said that Tank Montana, the breakfast show host on our local radio station, had been suspended.
Was this, I wondered, because of a trail for his breakfast show (which I never listen to), which appeared to imply that Amy Winehouse was taking drugs - apparently not.
From a rather quickly read out statement I believe he has been suspended until at least the 1st of July because he recorded a conversation with his boss (I have no idea if this was played on air or not).
The most exciting thing to happen on Mercury since Tom and Kez’s breakfast show.
LivinFm is screwed up (as per the norm) so I made backup server. I might use it for experimenting with radio stuff later as I want to do a show at some time. However for now (today 9pm) you can listen to The James Show on it.
I found a nice tool to visualise YouTube playlists and make them embeddable within a webpage. Here is my YouTube playlist - normally I start about half the way through skipping several songs as I go.
There are some irritants with the YouTube playlist feature - the first being that occasionally copyright holders request that YouTube removes a video - breaking the playlist - and second that their is no ’shuffle’ or ‘random play’ (sounds like Facebook :P) feature.
As fresh come off the air tonight I am left with livinfm.
The same LivinFM that was ‘hacked’ and now appears not to have paid their server bills,….
Woo.
Now I can be bored until book return day.
Whilst trying to avoid revising last weekend I re-did the Cassiobury Park.info website. Instead of using a design I created myself I used a free CSS template. Much of the content is the same as before however I also added some photographs and created an entirely new front page. I have already noticed a slight improving in Google rankings.

Two spots of Watford on TV recently.
Easy Peasy Ecobeebies a half hour special for children’s channel cBeebies about recycling (iPlayer link) was filmed on the Cassiobury estate. I’d like to point out that I didn’t actually spot this, I just read about it in the Watford Observer, as I don’t make a habit of watching cBeebies.
And Watford town centre was used in episode 6 of Peepshow (see below, about 3 mins in).
This isn’t the first time Mitchell and Webb have filmed in Watford having shot in the town centre, old central baths and even at my school for the first series of That Mitchell and Webb Look.

Often they appear to play nothing but (what I expect is officially classified as) rap and hip hop for perhaps 5 or 6 songs in a row which is extremely annoying as I do not like this kind of music. Also in the second half of each hour (from half past til o’clock) they seem to play far more dance tunes than in the first half hour. I’m not sure if I am imagining the extent to which this occurs or if it really is the case…
Facebook’s apparent refusal to accept that browsers other and FF and IE exist is starting to annoy me.
