Voting tomorrow

Argh!

After reading all the leaflets that keep coming through our door I finally decided who I am going to vote for.

Ad sets

Sometimes when browsing the web I come across a site that is running several of the same or similar ads. In this instance the ads I saw for Virgin Atlantic on a local newspaper website were all promoting the same campaign but where different ad formats.

Sure this may be about brand recognition or something, but I just find it irritating - especially considering the top banner quotes a different price from the others!

Jonathan Finerty’s Rap

Jon Finerty’s turbo tax rap:

And if you want to know why you should hire him, click here - turn on speakers to hear him sing!

George Bush jokes

King of the dances George Bush had some reasonably funny jokes to make about the American presidential candidates at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

The dinner, this year being Bush’s last, has become well known for funny video clips. Last year seeing two George Bushes speak, one real, the other fake.

James Gourley on LivinFM

James Gourley is someone from two years below me at School that I don’t think I’ve ever actually spoken to. I’ve had a few conversations with him on YouTube where I stole some clips from his videos for a couple of videos I made about Rickmansworth School.

Via Facebook I saw that he was currently ‘on air’ at the Internet radio station LivinFm. The station seems to be made from the remains of some Habbo radio station (don’t ask), and has only 3 DJs. Still I listened to the show (along with his Producer) and sent in some anonymous constructive comments.

There were a couple of awkward pauses, and quite often his voice was drowned out by the backing music but he gets bonus marks for managing to slag off both Mercury and another DJ at LivinFm in just a few seconds, as well as mentioning me as ‘random facebook guy’.

You can listen in via the LivinFm website and Gourley, sorry, DJ Gourley is on air 9-10pm on Tuesdays and 11pm Friday - 1 am Saturday.

Going down the table…

Watford lost 1-0. At home. To a team that is already relegated.

At this rate we won’t even make the playoffs.

Fresh Watford to return

Fresh Watford, a community radio station which broadcasts to Watford occasionally on temporary community radio licenses is set to return to the airwaves on 7th June 2008. Last year I really enjoyed listening to its two weeks of broadcasting from Charter Place. The station controller is Matt Cadman who I’m sure used to work at Mercury 96.6 FM, Watford’s main commercial radio station, which I have long given up on.

Someone wants to buy Watford?

What fool wants to put their money in Watford?

Chairman Simpson has always said he would consider stepping aside for someone who had more money to invest into the club.

Student Finance is a bugger

Having collected a large envelope containing several leaflets, a form and guide to the form last Thursday I must now try to apply for my student loan.

Reassuring myself that I am not the child of a Swiss national and therefore do not have to complete section 23 of form 7C, I filled in all the details that the Government already knows.

facebook attempt to take on MSN

Stalking people on facebook just got easier with the addition of Facebook chat. Provided you use an acceptable browser (see below), you can now easily see which of your friends are online and, apparently, can chat with them.

Obviously seems like a sensible move by Facebook, after all most people probably have more facebook friends than people on their MSN contact list.  Shame about the lack of browser support for K-meleon though, I guess this means I wont be using this new feature.
